Milk Paint Table

we're looking forward to the arrival of  our full shipment of 'Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint'
in the meantime, we received our sample box, 'Ironstone' 'Tricycle Red' & 'Shutter Gray'
i had the perfect small table to try it on.
the table had a water ring & a few other spots on the top that the paint wouldn't cover(sorry there's no before photo) this photo is after 2 coats of paint, i really didn't expect the paint to cover the spots & water ring. this paint is great for pieces you want to look distressed & the quirks of the wood add to the charm of the piece.
i worked with what i had, keeping the top distressed, but wasn't sure what i wanted to do yet.
looking at the color,'Ironstone' reminded me somewhat of a linen towel or grain sack, so that's what i went with...

'Tricycle Red' stripes

 'Shutter Gray' stencil

went over the top with a sanding block then finished with clear wax.
love the grooves in the legs
It's the perfect size for a small writing desk!

Leftovers...

Thursday dinner at our house is usually leftovers & it's my husband, Brad's, favorite dinner!
He enjoys eating a little of this & a little of that.
Well, I enjoy my CeCe Caldwell's Paint leftovers as much as Brad enjoys his dinner leftovers.
I love mixing the little bit of paints left in the can or sample pot together & see what color I end up with.
This time it was a bit of Pittsburgh Gray, Spring Hill Green & Memphis Blue, the perfect color for a small coffee table I've had

I kept enough Pittsburgh Gray for random flower stenciling on the top.
My niece, Jenna, was with me so I put her to work on the stenciling. I'm sorry that I don't have a photo of her stenciling, but she's too cute to totally leave out of this post.

I love the way my leftovers turned out...
finished with clear wax, this cute table is now ready for a new home!
 At 104 S. Main Antiques, Dickson,TN.
I hope to have another 'leftovers' post soon!

Thank you for stopping by, Sharon
