New Year - New Paint

hi & happy new year!
we always get excited at the start of a new year & this year is no different as
we're entering our 7th month of blogging & painting furniture together & are still having a blast & looking forward to 2012!
we're starting off the year with the discovery of a new paint.
ce ce caldwell's is an eco-friendly, natural chalk and clay paint
we had read about it on a few blogs & as we LOVE to paint of course we were ready to give it a try.
the table top is 'destin gulf green' & the base is 'young kansas wheat'
don't you just love the color names!
Check out CeCe's color chart click here
the paint is made here in america & all of the names refer to a state, city or area in the usa

the paint is a good texture & went on well, 2 coats on the base & 1 on the top
sanded good
but that's not all ...
the clear wax, oh my it's so good
 like butter
 it goes on so smoothly
we are ready to use this paint & wax again & again
we love that it's made in the usa, naturally green, no voc, no odor & non-toxic
even the cans are made from recycled plastic & can be tossed in the trash when the can is empty!

praying for this year to be filled with
more new, exciting discoveries
creativity
imagination
new friends
hope
open hearts & minds
 always remembering that with God
all things are possible, there is always a new beginning & we are always loved!

thank you for stopping by & stay shabby,
sharon & julie

  3. I am also interested about if you had to prep before using. I could not find anything on their site about pricing. Is it as expensive as Annie Slone?.

  5. Wow! I recently posted a blog on a similar table!"The Little Table that Could". Mine has a display glass top so I used a patchwork fabric effect under the glass to make it look like a quilted table top. I left it unfinished, but I love yours with the beautiful choice of colors. It give the idea to maybe paint mine after all.
I've used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, but will check out CeCe Caldwell. Right now I bought the ingredients to make my own chalk paint. Have a lot of paintin' to do!
Well thanks for sharing and have a happy new year! I'm a new follower.

  8. Sweet table--my favorite color is pale aqua! Striking colors against wood floors and area rugs--that table is adorable painted.

  14. You have convinced me. I have not yet painted with chalk paint but you sold me on giving it a try. I pinned the name of the company onto my inspiration board that will credit you. Thanks so much for the link up to Motivated Monday at BeColorful. Love your table and the colors you chose.
