this will probably be our last before & after for this year.
hope you enjoy the transformation...
my husband, brad,was out of town a few days ago visiting his mom

i was painting this piece & thinking about them & also about  what we were going to call this chest of drawers.

 a piece usually speaks to us in some way as we're painting, but no name was coming to me.

 i was using this deep gray color oops paint that i just love

it's  a strong color so i knew i wanted...wait...

that's it, 'Eugene'! that was my father-in-law's name

yes, that's perfect!

i'd like you to meet

he was a very plain, but solid piece

 the gray oops paint gave him so much character

i replaced the wood knobs with clear glass ones

i'm so happy the way he turned out

here's what she looked like before

she's solid,has nice curves  & i loved the hardware on her

definite possibilities

 annie sloan chalk paint 'graphite' on the top & 'country grey' on the base

more distressing than i normally do

i'm usually more vintage & julie is the shabby one, that's one of the reason's we work so well together

(& in case you're wondering, julie is perfectly happy being called the shabby one)

but 'beatrice' was just shabby all the way, there was no other way for her to look

finished with some clear wax & i was in love!

she will be a hard one to let go... sigh...

an old desk waiting for it's transformation

now you have a very handsome desk we are happy to call....

i'm not a fan of brass pulls & knobs so i don't usually put them back on a piece after painting, but i think these ones on the lower drawers look good, especially since i changed out the top knobs to clear glass, with  a brass center

this was our first time to use the colors 'graphite' & 'coco'

i love, love how good they look together!

a little distressing, some clear wax & he's lookin' fine...

 so, who is the real-life andrew?

Meet Roman

it seems that it's been a while since we've shared a before & after so let us present

he's a handsome guy, solid & well-built, but we knew he could look even better.

we had just purchased 'french linen' one of the new annie sloan chalk paint colors.

he was front & center in the garage waiting for his makeover & he looked like a guy who would look great in 'french linen'  & boy does he...

did we say that he has casters, oh yes, big ,easy to roll casters

roman is so much more than a handsome dresser

he would make a great entertainment center, entry hall piece or dining room sideboard, think of the storage...

he just arrived in our booth at the bellevue antique mall & is looking for a new home...
